Well, Folks, I'm back East again. My West Coast visit was a great one, but I'm happy to be home.
It's such a strange thing, when you're working towards a goal and then it comes and goes so quickly. Just reminds me that everything I do is made up of small, equal steps, and no feat is necessarily bigger than any other, whether it's playing the Hotel Cafe or buying bread at the grocery store. I'll spare the you the play-by-plays, but we played a successful 45-minute set which was recorded by Cynthia, the person doing sound that night. Sounds good - I put up a sneak peak a few days ago, so take a listen. I think I'll try and master/mix it a little bit and give it away to folks who want it. Maybe make it a little art project or something, made with an extra bit of love. That's what it's all about, after all.
LA really is the land of celebrity. Which is so funny. I saw the high asian girlfriend from superbad, my guitar player saw drew carey, i also saw hayden p. and kristin bell on the set of heroes. such a small world. We tried to take advantage of all the stuff to do...went hiking, went drinking, went to in-n-out burger (though I didn't eat there....vegetarian and all), got lost a few times, dropped my phone in the toilet (that's always a great thing), went to a flea market, went shopping......i'm exhausted!
k. time to tackle my suitcases.
xo
Lauren
