Finally, some details. If you're interested, that is.
Now that the holiday season has begun, life kind of gets into that stand-still mode...just waiting around for the holidays to pass so that we can get on with things. It is wonderful and awful all at the same time, but I'm taking it in stride, I hope. Anyway...
The definition of an EP: Extended play (EP) is the name typically given to vinyl records or CDs which contain more music than a single, but are too short to qualify as albums. Usually, an EP has around 10–25 minutes of music, a single has up to 10 minutes and an album has 25–80 minutes.
So, I left L.A. with seven songs recorded, adding up to about 26 minutes. But I'm still going to call it an EP. And it will still cost less than an album. Watch out for a hidden track in there at the end (I think).
I'm still trying to figure out what to call this project, and it's a struggle. Right now I'm leaning towards "Call Me Out" which is the title of one of the tracks on the EP. Stylistically, I think it's definitely different (read: better) than my previous recordings, which really makes me excited for even the next recording I do. The natural progression of things tends to go this way, soooooo as much as I want to stay 22 forever, getting older isn't necessarily a bad thing. Experience and wisdom, I welcome you with open arms.
I should have some final mixes come mid-December.
I heart NY,
Lauren
